BELGRADE Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) official Nebojsa Stefanovic says that the ruling majority in Belgrade will not change in the next 30 days. “We will do everything that citizens of Belgrade are at peace because they should be at peace and we will continue to criticize city officials,” he told daily Politika. “Belgrade ruling majority won’t change for another month” Stefanovic denied that there was any agreement between Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas and the SNS and that city assembly debates and statements in media proved it. He reiterated that combat against corruption and crime was extremely important for the SNS as well as the EU accession and economic reforms and explained that the party would not be in the Serbian government if there was no will to put everyone who committed crime on trial. Stefanovic denied that this was SNS’ threat to its coalition partners, noting that it was his “party’s clear position” and that he hoped that the coalition partners shared the SNS’ opinion.
