BELGRADE Vojislav Kostunica says that the latest agreement which PM Ivica Dacic reached in Brussels "undermines the very foundations of the country". The leader of the opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and former Serbian prime minister was reacting to the temporary agreement on the collection of customs duties. "New agreement undermines country's foundations" "Such counter-constitutional actions of the Serbian prime minister constitute new prime evidence as to why Dacic no longer has any legitimacy to perform the office of the prime minister and this is why he needs to resign," Kostunica stated. "Dacic's latest agreement on the establishment and collection of customs implies that an interstate border has been set up between Serbia and Kosovo," Kostunica said and added that up until recently, Dacic claimed nothing changed by the establishment of administrative crossings and now there are already talks of collection of customs duties. The DSS leader called on the Constitutional Court to immediately adopt the decision on the interruption of the implementation of the decision on integrated border management because Dacic's latest agreements on the collection of customs duties undermine the very foundations of the country. "If the Constitutional Court continues to ignore this and does not do its job, then it can be considered a direct accomplice in the disruption of Serbia's constitutional order, which calls for initiation of criminal proceedings against the Court itself," Kostunica said. Early on Friday, Dacic stated that the meeting with Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and EU High Representative Catherine Ashton that resulted in a temporary solution regarding customs collection at administrative crossings. He noted that the money from customs would go to a special fund formed under the auspices of the EU, which would be used for the development of municipalities in northern Kosovo. Dacic underscored that the agreement is in accordance with the national interest and view of the Kosovo Serbs who do not want to pay customs fees to Pristina's institutions.
