BAC Democratic Party (DS) and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) supporters have engaged in a fistfight in the northwestern town of Bac. Police have arrested 14 people who took part in the incident. DS, SNS supporters engage in fistfight in northwestern town The incident took place last night after a group of SNS activists forced their way into the Bac municipal building and threw out the mayor and deputy mayor, who were appointed by new leadership led by the Democrats on Novemeber 29, from their offices. According to Radio Television Vojvodina (RTV), a group of 20 men later tried to break in so the Democrats could return to the building but several SNS activists showed up and tried to prevent them. Novi Sad Police Spokeswoman Mileva Tomic has said that the arrested persons were taken to a local police station and that a decision whether criminal or misdemeanor charges will be filed against them will soon be made.
