BELGRADE Serbian president's adviser Marko Djuric said on Friday that the Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina had sent "a very negative signal". Djuric was quoted as saying that the decision of the provisional government in Pristina to prevent President Tomislav Nikolic from attending Orthodox Christmas service at the Gracanica monastery was "a very negative signal ahead of the resumption of the talks between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels". Presidential adviser: Negative signal from Pristina "It is a signal that there is no determination to find mutually acceptable solutions," Djuric told Tanjug. The provisional government this way sent a message of intolerance, he stated. "The Gracanica monastery is part of the UNESCO heritage, and the EU through its mission, EULEX, is responsible for ensuring religious and all basic human and citizen rights for all people, including freedom of movement," he noted. "This demonstrates the inability of (EU mission in Kosovo) EULEX to perform its basic function within its area of responsibility and this act that goes against civilization cannot in any way help reduce the tension between the two sides," he remarked. "Those who are behind this act against civilization are wrong if they think these actions will lower Serbia's determination in protecting its population and achieving its legitimate interests in Kosovo," Djuric said.
