BELGRADE Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas told B92 on Friday that he did not know what would happen with the ruling majority in Belgrade. However, he warned that it would not be a smart move for anyone to change the election will of Belgrade citizens. Voters’ wishes should be respected, Belgrade mayor says “I was not born as a mayor, I do not have to stay here. We had our work graded on May 6. Anyone who wants to change the decision of the citizens is risking their relations with citizens of Belgrade because whoever went against their will has never done anything great in politics and it will be so this time as well,” the mayor told B92. He reiterated that he was not interested in two terms in office. “I believe that nobody should remain in the same position for more than eight years. I have agreements with coalition partners,” Djilas noted. According to him, the decisions that have been made need to be implemented instead of being changed often. “If a decision is good, citizens of Belgrade will certainly see it, just like they will see if it is not,” the mayor pointed out. Djilas announced continuation of construction of infrastructure and social programs in the capital in 2013 despite budget cuts. According to him, Belgrade’s incomes could be increased thanks to city-owned real-estate and office buildings. Dragan Djilas (Tanjug, file) B92
