BELGRADE Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European integration Suzana Grubjesic has stated that Brussels has no secret conditions for Serbia. “We have assurances from everybody who make decisions that there are neither new nor secret conditions for Serbia,” she told daily Politika. Deputy PM: No secret conditions from Brussels According to Grubjesic, the conditions have been the same for the past two years but they are in Serbia “interpreted the way it suits politicians in a given moment”. “The conditions are in Serbian interpreted as it suits politicians in a given moment but the conditions have basically been the same for two years and they were defined by the European Council back in 2011. Term ‘normalization of relations with Pristina’ is interpreted differently in certain EU member states because there is no precise definition,” the deputy PM explained. When asked what EU member states thought about Serbia’s platform for Kosovo, she said that she had not heard anyone criticize the platform so fiercely as “certain circles in Serbia”. “It is not true that the platform is questioning the continuation of the European integration. The platform is a starting point and it offers a proposal for the solving of the Kosovo issue,” Grubjesic pointed out. She expressed belief that the European Commission (EC) would have enough reason in the spring to recommend the European Council to open the accession negotiations with Serbia.
