BELGRADE United Regions of Serbia (URS) official Verica Kalanovic has stated that she does not expect early elections in 2013. According to her, early elections would once again stop Serbia’s economic development. “Early elections would hinder economic development” She stressed, however, that the URS was ready for possible elections. “Calling of the early elections would significantly stop both economic activity and normal life of people,” Kalanovic told a press conference. “As far as we are concerned, the elections can be called in 2013. We have already fulfilled a large number of promises from the previous elections. We are in contact with people every day, we are not office-bound minister and we believe we have enough credibility to go out with new pre-election promises and program before the Serbian citizens,” she noted. According to Kalanovic, the early elections would stop “our plans that envisage full capacity of work on state issues”. URS Spokesman Marko Selakovic has said that 142 MPs support the government at the moment, 16 of which are URS MPs. Verica Kalanovic (Tanjug) Beta
