Serbian president urges better relations in region

President Tomislav Nikolić has told new OSCE Ambassador Peter Burkhard that Serbia is committed to establishing the best possible relations in the region.

BELGRADE President Tomislav Nikolic has told new OSCE Ambassador Peter Burkhard that Serbia is committed to establishing the best possible relations in the region. Burkhard expressed his support to a dialogue between the Serbian state bodies and interim institutions in Pristina. Serbian president urges better relations in region During the talks, Nikolic said that the help of international organizations in reaching the highest standards in the state was precious and especially stressed their help in combat against corruption and crime. The president pointed out that Serbia was committed to establishing the best possible relations in the region and added that the government’s job was to make Serbia a much better organized country during its term in office. Burkhard expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Serbian state authorities and OSCE Mission in Belgrade and noted that OSCE was ready to work together with Serbia on reforms that the government was planning on implementing. Although they are not directly involved, OSCE as an organization interested in stability in Europe supports the dialogue between the Serbian state authorities and the interim institutions in Pristina, Nikolic’s media office has released.
