BELGRADE First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic has said there were "many politicians who undoubtedly and openly were on Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic’s side". Vucic told a press conference at the Serbian government headquarters in Belgrade on Friday that Miskovic "used to pay between EUR 30,000 and EUR 50,000 a month to several people" and that competent state organs should find evidence of that. "Many politicians were on Delta owner’s side" However, the deputy PM did not state the names of the people suspected of receiving money from Miskovic. Asked whether there would be any probes into the Delta Holding owner’s other business operations, Vucic said there were several ongoing investigations and that the prosecution would launch proceedings once it had enough evidence. Commenting on allegations that a high-ranking Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official tried to warn Miskovic that he was going to be arrested, Vucic said that he had several pieces of information that many would find interesting but that no media had correct information. When asked if he was satisfied with the fact that Miskovic was remanded in custody for 30 days, the deputy PM said that he did not want to express his satisfaction or dissatisfaction with investigations, judges and prosecutors, adding that he hoped that they would do their job honorably and professionally. Vucic reiterated that the arrest of the Delta Holding owner had shown that nobody was protected from liability in Serbia. Miskovic, his son Marko, Milo Djuraskovic and another four suspects were remanded in custody up to 30 days on Friday. Aleksandar Vucic (file) Beta
