BELGRADE Security of Serbia's First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic has been stepped up after Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic's threats, the police have said. B92 has unofficially learned that Miskovic - the owner of Serbia's largest privately owned company, who was arrested this morning - said that “Vucic will not (last long enough to) see his appearance on Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) tonight“, while the businessman also allegedly asserted that he "would not be in custody for long". Delta owner reportedly threatens deputy PM The information was confirmed by Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljovic. The police immediately informed the deputy prime minister about the threats and his security level has been raised to the highest possible level. However, Miskovic's lawyers denied on Wednesday that their client ever made the threat. "The truth is that Miroslav said that 'Aleksandar (Vucic) cannot show up on RTS tonight unless he arrests me first'," the lawyers stated. Commenting on this and the arrest, Vucic stated: "The police told me what Mr. Miskovic said this morning, presumably in anger." Asked whether his security has been increased as a result, Vucic said he "was not thinking about this": "I have a hard enough time with the security I have, so I do not care about this too much. I care much more about the fact that there is no one protected and untouchable in Serbia and that the state is more powerful than any individual," said Vucic. Vucic confirmed to reporters that Miskovic, who was remanded in custody Wednesday morning, was suspected of illegal dealings in connection to the privatizations of road building companies in the Nibens Group case. "The prosecutors will have their say. For now, I can only say that this is one of the 24 cases investigated by the working group," said Vucic, adding that Miskovic's name was connected to several of the cases. According to Vucic, the current case is about Nibens Group, but other cases including Delreal and C Market are also being investigated. In a posting on his Facebook account, Serbia's first deputy PM wrote on Wednesday: "Serbia has never been, and will never be defeated by anyone, Miroslav Miskovic included." Miskovic, his son Marko and another eight persons, including Nibens Group owner Milo Djuraskovic, were arrested on Wednesday morning and remanded in custody for 48 hours. According to Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic, the suspects will be questioned during the day. Aleksandar Vucic (Tanjug) B92 Beta Tanjug
