JARINJE Novi Pazar put road construction company workers have continued to build road infrastructure at the Jarinje administrative crossing. The construction works are conducted in accordance with the agreement on the integrated crossings management. Construction works continue at Jarinje crossing However, the work will not be done within the envisaged deadline due to a four-day protest of northern Kosovo Serbs. According to announcements, temporary containers will be set up in order to allow traffic to work normally. A decision to end the protest was made by councilors of Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok on Friday. Leaders of northern Kosovo Serbs have said that they will “temporarily” end the protest but that it will be radicalized “if the border is established”. Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Krstimir Pantic told reporters that “representatives of citizens who took part in drafting conclusions yesterday are aware that construction works on buildings that will be used for the integrated crossings management need to continue“. Former Ministry for Kosovo State Secretary Oliver Ivanovic told B92 that the agreement on the crossings management was the best that could be reached at the moment.
