ISTANBUL Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Friday evening. “Bosniaks and Muslims living in Serbia are a bridge that helps cooperation with Turkey and in achieving common interest in the region,” said the Serbian PM after the meeting. He noted he had discussed with Erdogan and other Turkish officials a series of issues and agreed on regular annual meetings between government officials of the two countries. The USD 400mn trade between the two countries should reach USD 1bn in the coming years, the two sides agreed, according to Dacic. The Serbian official said he and Erdogan had discussed Turkey's initiative to take part in constructing roads in Serbia, especially in areas where it would affect political stability, like Raska, in southwestern Serbia, where Bosniaks make the majority of the population.
