Relations between Serbia and Turkey “key for stability”

Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dačić and Turkish President Abdullah Gul agreed that Serbian-Turkish relations were key for the stability of the region.

ANKARA, ISTANBUL Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Turkish President Abdullah Gul agreed that Serbian-Turkish relations were key for the stability of the region. They added that the development of a partnership between the two countries was also important. Relations between Serbia and Turkey “key for stability” Dacic met with Gul at the presidential palace in Ankara on Thursday, during his official visit to Turkey. The Turkish president said Serbia was a key country in the region, and the two officials agreed that the two countries should continue developing their already good relations. During the 90-minute meeting, Dacic and Gul agreed the focus should be on economic and agricultural cooperation, and on boosting trade and investments. They also agreed to continue cooperation on infrastructure projects such as the Turkish donation for the military-civilian airport Morava near the central Serbian town of Kraljevo. The two officials also exchanged opinions on all relevant regional and international issues. Dacic will on Friday take part in a meeting of interior ministers of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) which will focus on strengthening of cooperation in combat against cross-border crime. The Serbian government’s Media Office said in a release ahead of the visit that Dacic would on the sidelines of the meeting confer Turkish, Azerbaijani and Russian Interior Ministers Idris Sahin, Ramil Idris oglu Usubov and Vladimir Alexandrovich Kolokoltsev. The Serbian prime minister is also scheduled to meet with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Friday afternoon. (Tanjug) Tanjug

Dačić met with Gul at the presidential palace in Ankara on Thursday, during his official visit to Turkey.

The Turkish president said Serbia was a key country in the region, and the two officials agreed that the two countries should continue developing their already good relations.
