BELGRADE A vacancy announcement has been posted in the Belgrade-based daily Politika, calling on qualified candidates to apply for the job of Serbia's police director. A new head of the Anti-Corruption Agency will also be selected in the process. After a new director has been elected, police administrations in Nis, Novi Sad, and some other towns, are expected to get new chiefs. Meanwhile, PM Ivica Dacic, who also serves as interior minister, has stated that "the envisaged changes in the police have taken into account the events related to the wiretapping affair". The announcement has been expected for some time, considering that Veljović's mandate expired last year. He became police director during the government of Vojislav Koštunica.
