BELGRADE Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister Suzana Grubjesic says visible progress in the dialogue with Pristina is a shortcut to a date for the beginning of the EU talks. Commenting on announcements that Serbia could get a “conditional date” for the beginning of the EU accession talks in December, she said that it depended on Brussels. “Progress in dialogue is shortcut to EU talks date” “The concrete steps should be defined by the European Council if it decides to recommend that Serbia be granted the conditional date in December. We know for now that a formulation ‘visible and sustainable progress in the dialogue with Pristina’ is used,” Grubjesic told daily Press. When asked whether it meant that the continuation of the dialogue between Serbian and Kosovo PM Ivica Dacic and Hashim Thaci was crucial, she said that it was not. “We need to implement everything that was agreed in the technical dialogue,” the deputy PM was quoted as saying. The dialogue between Dacic and Thaci will probably continue on November 7 in Brussels, with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton as a facilitator.
