“Government won’t allow reintroduction of visas”

BELGRADE Serbian Deputy PM for European Integration Suzana Grubjesic has said that reintroduction of visas would represent revocation of hard-won freedom of movement. She added that the government would not allow visas to be reintroduced for Serbian citizens because it would be “disastrous to the European idea in Serbia”. “Government won’t allow reintroduction of visas” “The Serbian government will now let Serbian citizens suffer because of the small number of false asylum seekers and we will do everything in our power to solve the issue together with our European partners as soon as possible,” Grubjesic stressed. She added that she and Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski had discussed the issue last week in Bucharest bearing in mind that Macedonia was facing the same problem. “The Serbian government will now let Serbian citizens suffer because of the small number of false asylum seekers and we will do everything in our power to solve the issue together with our European partners as soon as possible,” Grubješić stressed.

She added that she and Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski had discussed the issue last week in Bucharest bearing in mind that Macedonia was facing the same problem.
