BELGRADE President Tomislav Nikolic made a “cardinal mistake“ by saying he expects the EU to change the controversial formulation about “Kosovo’s territorial integrity”. According to him, the European Commission (EC) report on Serbia’s progress is a “diagnosis of missed chances and calculations in the past eight years and unwillingness to scratch beneath the surface and change something in reforms”. “The fact that there have been no political and economic measures that would bring us closer to Europe in the last nine months is horrible. The country was broken by elections, exhausted by the forming of the government and by wrong decisions of the new incompetent government in the past three months,” Jovanovic was quoted as saying. He said that Nikolic “lied to citizens that he will lead the country faster toward the EU and changes that are necessary”. “Now they are looking for an alibi that means the end of any idea of a normal life for seven million people in Serbia.
