BELGRADE Swedish European Affairs Minister Eva Birgitta Ohlsson will come for a two-day visit to Belgrade on Friday. Ohlsson will discuss Serbia’s EU integration process with the Serbian government officials. Swedish EU affairs minister to visit Belgrade Among other things, the Swedish minister and Serbian officials will talk about a position of minorities, LGBT population and Roma in Serbia. Ohlsson said earlier that she was sorry that the Serbian authorities had decided to ban the gay Pride Parade that was supposed to be held on Saturday. She added that she would also meet with LGBT activists during her visit to Belgrade. The Swedish Embassy in Belgrade announced earlier that Ohlsson was planning on attending the Pride Parade, adding that such manifestations were tests that showed whether a country respected human rights. The Serbian authorities have decided to ban all public gatherings on October 6 in Belgrade, including the gay parade. However, organizers have announced that the parade will be held indoors.
