Serbia militarily neutral, DM tells Czech army chief

BELGRADE Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic has once again stated that Serbia will not be joining any military alliances. However, noted Vucic during his meeting with the chief of staff of the Czech military, Lt. Gen. Petr Pavel, Serbia will attempt to utilize "available mechanisms" of NATO's Partnership for Peace program. The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that Vucic expressed Serbia's interest in taking part in the work of the Combined Logistics Coordination Center of the Czech military in Prague. According to this, Pavel offered the Serbian MoD to send its soldiers to the EU Visegrad Battle Group, as well as his country's support for establishment of a regional center for education of Atomic-Biological-Chemical Defense (ABHO) personnel in Krusevac, central Serbia. Pavel expressed particular interest in the capacity of the military clinic VMA in Belgrade, and cooperation between the two armies' special units. The meeting also agreed on the importance of engagement of armed forces in multi-national operations, and the possibility of "exchange of experiences and joint training". Pavel and Vucic voiced their satisfaction with the level of cooperation reached in the fields of military education, logistics, and Atomic-Biological-Chemical Defense. He told Pavel that Serbia is a militarily neutral country, and thanked the Czech Republic for its support in the process of Serbia's EU integration and defense system reforms.

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that Vučić expressed Serbia's interest in taking part in the work of the Combined Logistics Coordination Center of the Czech military in Prague.
