BELGRADE EU Enlargement commissioner Stefan Fule will visit Belgrade next week in order to personally present EC’s report on Serbia’s progress. Fule will come to Belgrade once he has presented the annual report on Serbia’s progress in Brussels. He presented the last year’s report the same way. Serbian Deputy PM for European Integration Suzana Grubjesic still has not been officially informed about Fule’s visit so she could not comment on it. The daily writes that his visit is seen as a sign of support to the new government’s decision to fulfill the new EU conditions. “This is a sign of support to the EU integration and an encouragement for the next steps that will be necessary to open the EU negotiations, both in the sense of reforms and in a political sense,” said former EU Integration Office Director Milica Delevic. It is still unknown what the European Commission said in the report but it is certain that it does not contain a recommendation for a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks. The daily’s sources said the report will also touch on the ban of the gay Pride Parade. The most difficult conditions will be connected with a political dialogue with Pristina, including a request for Belgrade to sign an agreement on normalization of relations with Kosovo, Blic writes.
