BELGRADE The current government has no policy for Kosovo, Democratic Party (DS) MP and former Belgrade team chief Borislav Stefanovic has stated. “There is no plan, no negotiating team, no program and no platform, although they announce constantly that they will adopt the platform. I think it is high time to get serious and do it,” he told daily Blic. Serbian government “has no Kosovo policy” According to him, the DS supports the fact that the government wants to continue the dialogue with Pristina and that they pledged to implement the agreements reached by the negotiating team. Stefanovic noted that the mentioned signing of an agreement on good neighborly relations with Kosovo as a condition for Serbia's progress in the EU integration process was a “completely new thing”, adding that nobody had ever requested anything like that. “I responsibly claim that nothing like that was signed. Those agreements, regulations and conclusions that we reached was adopted by the government and they were signed by (then Deputy PM) Ivica Dacic and (then PM) Mirko Cvetkovic. It is very irritating to say we knew something but that we hid it. We said publicly everything that was said to us,” the former team head pointed out. When asked to comment on former Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe Coordinator Erhard Busek’s statement that the partition of Kosovo was the only solution, he said that this was Busek’s personal opinion and that “luckily it maybe is not so important”. “Many international officials become aware of some other elements once they leave their positions. Our policy is against the partition of Kosovo because it would be anti-constitutional and because it is unknown what would happen to the Serbs south of the Ibar River in that case,” Stefanovic concluded.
