BELGRADE Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic has stated that his deputy Dragan Djilas has questioned his authority in the party. He added that he would say everything he had to say at today’s Main Board meeting. DS leader says “deputy questions his authority” “He (Djilas) did it in public and outside the party’s organs, which is a violation of the Statute in my opinion,” Tadic explained. He said that some parts of the DS and holders of big capital were behind a smear campaign against the DS that had been led in the last several weeks. “I will say everything I have to say at this Main Board meeting, with respect of the party’s Statute. Dragan Djilas has questioned my authority as a DS leader,” he told daily Danas. Tadic said that he understood Djilas’s “growing ambition” and that he believed that Djilas, DS deputy leader Bojan Pajtic or he could be a DS leader. “As a DS leader I think that I should get a new legitimacy and I have never given up on a political fight and I won’t now. I want a DS with a clear program, ideology and system of values, not a business club that made the party meaningless,” the DS leader noted. After the election defeat, a series of mutual accusations among the DS members started. DS deputy leader Jelena Trivan resigned on Friday. Boris Tadic (Tanjug, file) B92 Danas Tanjug
