LEPOSAVIC KFOR troops continued to block an alternative road across Tresava that Serbs used to transport goods from central Serbia to northern Kosovo on Wednesday. KFOR troops block alternative road in north KFOR is allowing passenger vehicles to go through but the trucks are being redirected to the only official crossing in this part of Kosovo, Jarinje. Serbs who refuse to use the Jarinje crossing, where EULEX officers are in charge of control, claim that they do not want pay customs duties to Kosovo. Leposavic Municipal Council member Zoran Milojevic told Tanjug that the problem should be solved at a higher level and that the official Belgrade should be involved in the solving of the issue. He believes that KFOR has exceeded its mandate and that it has taken over the role of the police and that instead of trying to secure the freedom of movement, the mission is doing exactly the opposite. The situation is similar at another alternative road that leads from Raska across Vucija rupa to Leposavic, where KFOR troops are present. The Serbs on Tuesday withdrew from the so-called cross-border zone near the Jarinje crossing where they were preventing trucks from entering northern Kosovo for ten days. (file) Tanjug
