BELGRADE First Deputy PM and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic was appointed secretary of the Council for National Security on Friday in Belgrade. This was confirmed by his cabinet for Tanjug news agency. Vucic is new Council for National Security secretary Vucic was nominated at the session of the National Security Council in the Presidency building. This is the second session the Council staged after the parliamentary and presidential elections in Serbia. The Council held its first extraordinary session on June 1. It came a day after Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic was sworn in and assumed office. The meeting discussed incidents in northern Kosovo. Belgrade-based tabloid Blic wrote today that the session that appointed Vucic was also to choose the next head of the BIA intelligence agency. Vučić is new Council for National Security secretary

Vučić was nominated at the session of the National Security Council in the Presidency building.

This is the second session the Council staged after the parliamentary and presidential elections in Serbia.
