BELGRADE Finding a solution for Kosovo is a priority and Kosovo Serbs must be involved in the process, says government office for Kosovo future head Aleksandar Vulin. Vulin said a united state policy on Kosovo was imperative when talks between Belgrade and Pristina resume, adding that Kosovo Serbs who had previously been excluded must be allowed to participate. “Solving of Kosovo issue is Serbia’s priority” When asked whether Belgrade would abolish the newly formed municipalities of Zvecan and Zubin Potok, Vulin told daily Politika: "Who am I to abolish municipalities?" "The government's well-know position is that Serbian institutions in Kosovo are legal and legitimate and the government will not do anything to violate the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Serbia," said Vulin. He wondered how the government could abolish institutions which had helped the Serbian people survive under difficult circumstances. “Serbian institutions in Kosovo are not parallel, and if there parallel institutions exist they are the institutions of Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, whose influence we need to marginalize,” said Vulin. Commenting on the proposal of outgoing Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic to abolish the Kosovo bonus, a 50 percent salary bonus paid to public employees in the province, he said it was "a mean-spirited statement from a former minister."
