United Regions of Serbia (URS) leader Mladjan Dinkic has stated that his party will run three ministries in the new Serbian government. According to him, the URS will be in charge of the EU integration, finance and economy and regional development and local self-government. URS leader: New govt. will have 15 ministries He said at the URS Administration meeting on Saturday, where he should get consent to join the government, that he expected the government to be formed by July 25 at the latest. Dinkic added that the government would be small and that it would have 15 ministries and 17 members. “The URS will get three ministries out of those 15,” he explained. The URS leader said he had not been thinking about cooperating with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) but that he had changed his mind after he recalled Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic’s words that he never would have cooperated with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) if he had let emotions instead of reason take over. Dinkic said that SPS leader Ivica Dacic had first offered him to join a government with the SPS and SNS two days after the presidential run-off, adding that he had declined since the URS was ready to be in the opposition. He pointed out that Tadic had tried to destroy the URS and that his envoys were trying to get the URS MPs to join the Democrats. “We watched all that without any reaction and we fought to have the best possible result and in the end they asked the URS to join the government but without its leader,” Dinkic said. He noted that only a couple of days after the elections People's Party leader Maja Gojkovic had went with her two MPs and offered them to Tadic, adding that her party was expelled from the URS afterward. “Now she can go and be with Tadic all she wants,” Dinkic pointed out. He said that the EU officials had informed him about their disappointment and serious objections to Tadic and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic’ work during his visit to Brussels. “Most of those objections have to do with the policy toward Kosovo,” the URS leader said and added that the new government would have to implement everything Tadic had promised in the dialogue.
