Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), Serb Progressive Party (SNS) and United Regions of Serbia (URS) leaders have agreed to sign a coalition deal on July 10. SPS leader Ivica Dacic, SNS acting leader Aleksandar Vucic and URS leader Mladjan Dinkic held a meeting at an unknown location on Friday to negotiate putting together Serbia's new government. The SNS stated that the three leaders had confirmed they agreed on Serbia’s European future and government’s commitment to fight against corruption and crime and to implement economic reforms. The SNS, SPS and URS leaders discussed the goals and results that the new government needs to achieve in the following period. B92 learned earlier that the meeting would begin at 14:00 CET. “The SNS, SPS and URS leader will discuss the program and goals of the government and results that need to be achieved,” Vucic told B92 earlier on Friday. He, however, did not want to reveal the place or the time of the meeting. The SNS acting leader told B92 that the government would be formed on July 24 or a day before or after. “I expect us to come closer to finalizing the coalition agreement. The most important thing we think should be done is primarily something that can be measurable,” he explained. According to earlier announcements, a new coalition agreement will be based on eight principles – state policy, economic and social policy, rule of law, combat against corruption and organized crime, state administration reform, departisation and decentralization and freedom of media. The SNS and SPS held the first talks on the new government on June 29 in the SNS headquarters in Belgrade. Serbia’s President Tomislav Nikolic gave a mandate for the forming of the new government to Dacic after he had been informed that the SPS-led coalition has the parliamentary majority that includes the SNS and URS.
