According to an article in the Priština-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore, he stated that NATO would, through its KFOR mission, "do everything to ensure freedom of movement for all".

Rasmussen also said that a new reduction in the number of KFOR soldiers was postponed due to the incidents in northern Kosovo.

According to the newspaper, he stressed that the "issue of northern Kosovo" should be solved politically, and that it should be reached through dialogue.

Rasmussen added that the EU mission, EULEX, "does not have the necessary capacities to perform all its tasks", and noted that "NATO and the EU were discussing this openly".
