Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic says official talks on forming a government will start after Tomislav Nikolic's inauguration. "Of course there are informal contacts among the parties, but who we are talking to I will keep to myself, because there have been no concrete agreements yet," he told daily Danas. “Talks on government after Nikolic's inauguration” Vucic said a government formed by the Democratic Party (DS) and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) "would not have legitimacy," noting that the situation in Serbia was "much clearer" following Nikolic's victory in the presidential race. According to him, the previous ruling coalition gathered around the DS "has lost the legitimacy to govern Serbia." He did not want to say whether the SNS would nominate a prime minister at a session of the party's committee scheduled for Thursday, or who would head the party until a new leader was elected in September. According to him, the previous ruling coalition gathered around the DS "has lost the legitimacy to govern Serbia."

He did not want to say whether the SNS would nominate a prime minister at a session of the party's committee scheduled for Thursday, or who would head the party until a new leader was elected in September.

Nikolić has announced that he will resign as SNS leader on Thursday.
