Norway’s Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has said that Serbia has sped up its EU integration process. He also noted that Serbia was deepening cooperation with the countries of the region, the EU and Norway. Norwegian PM: Serbia quickly approaching EU Stoltenberg said this during his talks with Serbia’s Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic in Belgrade on Saturday. The Norwegian PM congratulated Serbia on getting the EU candidate status. Cvetkovic stressed that the country’s political and economic stability was the most important thing in the further EU integration process. He added that an intensive phase of the EU integration awaited Serbia, including continuation of necessary reforms. The Serbian prime minister pointed out that Serbia and Norway had very good bilateral relations that should be additionally improved, especially in the field of economy. The two officials noted at the meeting that other Norwegian companies should follow the example of Telenor which represents the biggest individual foreign investment in Serbia. They agreed that the two countries could expand their cooperation in the field of energy, environment protection and infrastructure, the Serbian government’s Media Office has stated.
