Political parties and candidates in Serbian parliamentary, local and presidential elections have until midnight to wrap up their campaigns. The election silence will begin at midnight on Thursday and it will last until polling stations are closed at 20:00 CET on Sunday. Election campaign in Serbia to end at midnight According to the Law on Election of MPs, the election silence starts 48 hours before the elections. Election campaign in media, public rallies and assessment of election results are forbidden during the period. According to the law, it is forbidden to place symbols of political parties, coalitions, groups of citizens and electoral lists’ leaders and any other promotional items 50 meters around polling stations. The presidential, parliamentary, local and provincial elections in Serbia will be held on May 6. 18 electoral lists are competing for seats in parliament and there are 12 presidential candidates. 7,026,579 voters are eligible to vote at 8,587 polling stations in Serbia and abroad. Faculty of Political Sciences professor and Anti-Corruption Agency member Zoran Stojiljkovic told Radio B92 that the Agency had had its observers who monitored the parties’ work during the entire campaign.
