In this "referendum", Krasic said late on Sunday, "the citizens will chose between pro-European forces and the SRS". Addressing supporters of the opposition party in Krusevac, central Serbia, he asserted that 80 percent of the citizens is against Serbia's EU membership, whereas the percentage is a lot higher when it comes to the country's NATO accession. "This means that the SRS and the Serbian citizens are on the same wavelength. We just need to be unified around the goal," he said. Krasic underlined that the Radicals advocate termination of Serbia's EU accession process, and added that joining the Union implies giving up Kosovo. As he put it, after the October 5 democratic changes, the parties of the then coalition dubbed the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) gave primacy to the interests of Brussels and not to Serbia's interests. All messages of those parties in this electoral campaign are also aimed at "the bosses" in Brussels and not at the Serbian people. "Bulgarians and Romanians, whose countries are EU members, come to Serbia to work in order to survive, and I wonder now whose bright mind wants to lead Serbia to Europe," Krasic said. Calling on the citizens to vote for the SRS, he added that, if the party wins the elections, it will act in the interest of Serbia - not of the EU. (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
