The deadline for submitting presidential candidatures to the Election Commission (RIK) expired at midnight, with 11 bids officially confirmed thus far. Another candidature - that of Danica Grujicic, nominated by the Social-Democratic Alliance - is yet to be confirmed. 11 candidates confirmed as deadline expires The order in which the candidates' names will appear on the ballot papers will be determined in a draw on April 20, while any presidential hopeful who wishes to withdraw from the race can do so until April 19. According to a Partner Consulting public opinion poll published last week, opposition SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic is currently the favorite to win the vote in the first round, closely followed by ruling DS leader Boris Tadic, who will seek his third term in office. Other contenders include Ivica Dacic, Cedomir Jovanovic, Vojislav Kostunica, and Vojislav Seselj's wife, Jadranka Seselj. Mufti Muamer Zukorlic, Zoran Dragisic of the Movement of Workers and Peasants, Zoran Stankovic (URS), Istvan Pastor (SVM), and Vladan Glisic of the Dveri Movement will also run. In Serbia, presidential candidates must collect 10,000 signatures in order to submit their bids to the election commission. Parliamentary, local and presidential elections will be held on May 6.
