Serbia has to exit the crisis with a clear plan and tangible, hard work, presidential candidate of the Democratic Party (DS) Boris Tadic stated on Sunday. We need a new government for a new time, we need new people, Tadic - who will on May 6 seek his third term in office - said in an interview for Tanjug. Tadic: We need new people for new times According to him, in case his list constitutes the new government, it would gather both experienced ministers and some new names. Some of the previous ministers would remain in the government, but not all of them, Tadic said and added that Serbia is facing a time of serious and complex challenges. He expressed certainty that his list has a team of very experienced people and it would be a great loss if experienced officials were to be sent away to conduct their own private businesses. Unlike the current government which worked in crisis circumstances in the course of its entire mandate, the new government would have to face a crisis in the first year of its mandate, after which a better economic period would come, late in 2013 or early in 2014. When asked about political allies in the period after May 6 elections, Tadic said that he primarily counts on citizens' support because complex and challenging decisions would have to be adopted in the year after the new government is appointed so that the macroeconomic situation in Serbia could be stabilized. Without social stability we cannot ensure continuity of investments, and everyone would be able to invest in a peaceful, developing country in which people know where they stand and what they can count on, Tadic said. Such a country is a predictable partner for the future, he stated and added that his political partners are all those who can contribute to such a policy. According to him, the coalition around the Socialist Party of Serbia can count on partnership in the future government coalition because it demonstrated that it is a reliable partner. All parties willing to take on the risk and stand great pressures can be our potential coalition partners for the future because we will face severe pressures and serious work, Tadic said. As for the opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) - which top his Democrats in opinion polls - Tadic said the party was "not a candidate for a coalition around the DS and administration of the country in the future".
