Operation in northern Kosovo “will be necessary”

It is possible that the Kosovo government will be “forced” to carry out a special units operation in the north, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuci says.

It is possible that the Kosovo government will be “forced” to carry out a special units operation in the north, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuci says. He added that the operation would be similar to the one that had been carried out on July 25, 2011. Operation in northern Kosovo “will be necessary” Kuci told KTV that the measures were necessary in order for the government to establish law and order in “this part of the country”. He explained that “operation was delayed” so the authorities could separate the Kosovo citizens from criminals and so nobody would think that Kosovo was carrying out ethnic cleansing in the north. “An operation like on July 25 will be necessary, but not desirable for the Kosovo government,” Kuci stressed. The Kosovo deputy PM expressed dissatisfaction over EULEX and KFOR’s activities in the north and requested better cooperation in an attempt to establish law and order.
