The United Regions of Serbia (URS), the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) and the Dveri Movement say they expect to win support in the May 6 elections. Taking part in a debate broadcast on state television RTS, URS deputy leader Maja Gojkovic said that both “small and big coalitions” would run in the elections and that although the ruling Democrats and the opposition Progressives considered themselves big parties - "they were actually coalitions around which smaller parties have gathered”. Smaller parties expect to do well in elections “The URS represents experience in the work of local governments and is offering solutions for what is not good in the country today, analyzing what has been preventing local communities from developing,” Gojkovic said. She added that there was “uneven regional development and too much centralism” in the country and that this should be changed. Member of the SVM presidency Balint Pastor said that the party offered “consistency” to its voters. “Our campaign slogan is that the things we offer are not good only for the Hungarians, but also for all Serbia's citizens,” Pastor said, adding that the party has not accepted any “rotten compromises” over the last four years and that it has been promoting the interests of Vojvodina - Serbia's northern province - "with great commitment". Pastor said that the SVM would not make any big promises or new party programs in the current campaign but rather stay committed to the goals it still pursued - decentralization, investment, human rights, and more money for agriculture. Dveri representative Bosko Obradovic said that the movement was running in the elections on its own and that it was the only complete novelty on the political scene, adding that he expected it to receive citizens' trust. “We have seen all the others over the past 22 years and we know that the ruling power and the opposition on our political scene are nothing but the same thing,” Obradovic noted, adding that the movement was the only "to put family first and to criticize the parasitic party system” in the country.
