Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (APSS) have signed an agreement on joint participation at the elections. The agreement was signed by SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic and APPS President Zarko Milisavljevic. Opposition party teams up with SME association The agreement signed in the SNS seat notes that APPS would assist the election campaign both financially and through other available funds of companies and entrepreneurs, in proportion with its financial potentials. Nikolic said that the agreement with APPS was signed so that the SNS list would cover all those who want to see the situation in Serbia changed. He expressed satisfaction that APPS members joined forces with SNS in order to win some changes because, as he said, only public enterprises and government's pets were allowed to operate in Serbia at this moment. The APPS president said that the Association had joined SNS because it agreed with the economic program presented in the SNS White Book, and especially with regard to the solutions to the problems small and mid-size companies are facing. “We have been trying to react to government measures for four years now, but our solutions were rejected and we were ousted from the Social and Economic Council,” Milisavljevic said. He underscored that small and mid-size companies were among the most regular payers and represent the backbone of the Serbian tax system, which was why they could not be mere observers and wait for something to happen. The agreement envisages that SNS should award one mandate to APPS representative in the parliament within the party's MP list, and that in case of SNS wins some seats in the next government, SNS would take into account the APPS propositions when appointing state secretaries for economy and labor.
