Four EU ministers back Serbia's candidate status

Bulgarian, Czech, Hungarian and Slovak foreign ministers on Friday jointly proposed granting Serbia the EU candidate member status next Monday. In a letter addressed to EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule, the ministers noted that Belgrade had taken all necessary steps on its reform pathway and met its international obligations.
