Opposition New Serbia party leader Velimir Ilic stated on Tuesday that the country is "in a state of complete collapse, but not because of snow". According to llic, the "collapse" had occurred because of the current policy and the crisis in the ruling coalition. "Govt. policy, not snow, caused collapse in Serbia" Ilic told a press conference in Belgrade that Serbia "does not have a government at the moment - it is not possible to hold a parliamentary session, since there is no parliamentary majority which could reach decisions". He noted that the government distances itself from the referendum in northern Kosovo and Metohija "in order to curry favor with someone", not specifying who. The current authorities have moved further away from the European Union, he said. "Serbian President Boris Tadicc is present everywhere, he is clearing the snow, telling us that certain households will not have to pay the next electricity bill, whereas he should be resolving the problems of the economy, Kosovo and Fiat in Serbia," Ilic stated. He added that the state budget revenues "never arrived so slowly", and criticized the tax policy, adding that the decision on energy efficiency was being "selectively implemented". According to this opposition leader, it is necessary to call the elections as soon as possible, while the citizens "should fight for a small, functional and competent government which will create jobs in Serbia".
