If elections in Serbia were held today the opposition SNS party would win 33 percent of votes, while the ruling Democrats (DS) could count on 25.8 percent. According to the latest survey of the Partner Consulting agency, the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) would take third place with 10.1 percent of votes, and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) would win 5.8 percent and 5.3 percent of votes respectively, just above the minimum necessary to enter parliament. Poll: SNS has 33% support, DS second with 25.8% As director of the agency Miroslav Sutic stated at a news conference, the SPS marked a rating increase by 0.6 percent compared to the December survey, as well as the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) by 0.9 percent and Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) by 1.2 percent. At this point, a total of 3.2 percent of voters would vote for PUPS and 2.3 percent for the SVM, the survey showed. As he said, the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) would win 4.4 percent of votes, United Regions of Serbia (URS) 2.1 percent, League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) 1.6 percent, and Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDP) 1.1 percent. If elections were held today, the turnout would be 56 percent, a survey carried out for the previous ten days showed, based on a sample of 1,400 respondents. Sutic stressed that the readiness to vote was noticed among the young population, which, as he said, is surprising compared to what the experience showed so far. In addition, it was noticed that DS has a completely equal gender structure among the voters, whereas the SNS has 10 percent more male voters, and the SPS over 10 percent more female voters. The SPS is the only party with the majority of women voters, Sutic said, adding that, on the other hand, the most "masculine" parties are the SVM and the SRS with 76 percent of men voters each, as well as PUPS with 72 percent of male voters. Sutic explained that education structure of voters is one of the reasons for SNS's advantage over the DS. "The considerable advantage of the SNS is in the categories of population with primary and secondary education, whose turnout is nearly 90 percent," Sutic said, adding that over 40 percent of the population in Serbia has primary education or no formal education, adding that there is approximately the same number of citizens with secondary education. Among the voters with primary education, there is the largest "reserve" of new voters who did not wish to state who they will vote for, Sutic underlined, adding that the overall turnout will most likely be 61.7 percent, and will certainly not be below 43.8 percent.
