Hashim Thaci once again on Monday spoke about "his willingness to meet with Serbian President Boris Tadic". Thaci, who heads the government in Pristina, also "stressed that the only possible topic was recognition of Kosovo's independence". Thaci "only wants to discuss recognition" Ethnic Albanians in the province unilaterally declared independence four years ago, but Serbia rejected the proclamation. Thaci first suggested to meet with Tadic last week, to which the president responded by saying that he would accept - unless the aim of the meeting was "to promote Kosovo's statehood, symbolic verbal sparring or political folklore". Thaci, on the other hand, told Albanian language media in Pristina today that a possible meeting between Tadic and himself "would only have one point to discuss - reciprocal recognition". "Other points and problems can be solved through relations between the governments," believes Thaci. "The meeting would serve the purpose of peace, stability, cooperation and good neighborly relations, as well as Euro-Atlantic perspectives of the two countries and the entire region," he was further quoted.
