Serbia made considerable progress in meeting its obligations since the adoption of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's previous resolution. This assessment is contained in the PACE resolution adopted on Wednesday. PACE: Serbia made considerable progress PACE members congratulated the Serbian authorities on a series of impressive reforms, adding they had established a climate of political stability, made significant progress towards EU membership, cooperated with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and played a constructive role in the region, including establishing a peaceful dialogue with Pristina. The resolution cites four areas where improvement is possible before PACE monitoring is concluded, the PACE website states. PACE members said Serbia should do much more to fully implement changes to the judiciary, take stronger steps to combat corruption, achieve a higher level of media independence and improve the position of the minorities, especially the Roma.
