Former ambassador to Germany Ognjen Pribicevic says there is diplomatic room for Belgrade and Pristina to agree on Kosovo's regional presentation. This could happen in the next 10 or 15 days, he told B92 on Tuesday. Ex-ambassador thinks "there's room for agreement" The former Serbian ambassador added that this would be a key condition for Serbia to obtain an EU candidate status. There are positive signals coming from western powers, which are thinking about how to continue the process of Serbia's European integration, Pribicevic said. He pointed out that it is too early to talk about what will happen in late February when it comes to Serbia's EU candidacy, but also pointed to a statement by German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle that Serbia has to fulfill the conditions in order to get the candidacy, referring to the regional presentation of Kosovo. Pribicevic believes that the issue could be resolved by the same principle as the issue of managing the border crossings, and that the starting point should be displaying the terms regarding Kosovo's regional presentation on the board, which could be interpreted differently. He said that perhaps the only possible solution is to allow the opposing sides to interpret the terms in a way acceptable for them. Pribicevic said that, after Serbia got the candidacy, talks "regarding the date" would be held, and added that through "dual sovereignty" and a modern, European and creative solution, we could reach a solution to the problem of Kosovo and Metohija.
