Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) candidate for PM will be known on January 23 when the Main Board will make a decision, says SNS deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic. He said he hoped that SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic would be a candidate but he could not say whether he would also run for president. Progressives to decide on PM candidate on Jan. 23 “If the elections were called at the same time of course that Tomislav Nikolic could not be a candidate for both offices. If they are held in different times, then it is technically possible,” explained Vucic. “If you ask me what Tomislav Nikolic would like more, I think that he would personally like this but there is a majority that wants him to run for president, but I think that the majority in the party will want him to run for prime minister,” he added. The SNS deputy leader pointed out that the Progressives intended to win the next elections and allow changes to happen in Serbia, adding that the SNS requested from the government “not to play games with the people and to call the elections as soon as possible, because the damage they are incurring to the state is becoming bigger by the day”.
