The Leposavic municipal assembly decided on Wednesday to hold a referendum on Kosovo institutions on February 15. The question will be “Do you accept the Republic of Kosovo institutions in northern Kosovo and Metohija?” N. Kosovo town to hold referendum Feb. 15 Representatives of the ruling Democratic Party (DS) did not attend the session. 16 councilors attended the session and all of them voted in favor of the referendum. The other three northern Kosovo municipalities, Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan and Zubin Potok, have decided to hold the referendum on February 14-15. Leposavic Mayor Branko Ninic said earlier that he believed that the referendum was “unnecessary at the moment because the state of Serbia has not recognized the Kosovo institutions” and that it was redundant for the municipalities to decide whether they recognize the Pristina institutions or not.
