“SPS-PUPS-JS should stand elections together”

Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dačić says it is in the interest of all parties of the current coalition to take part in the elections together.

Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic says it is in the interest of all parties of the current coalition to take part in the elections together. Dacic noted that SPS, Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) and United Serbia (JS) would make a decision in this respect and that PUPS announced talks on further coalition for January, adding that he expected a positive outcome of all agreements. “SPS-PUPS-JS should stand elections together” He said that the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition - foreged ahead of the 2008 elections - had proved its qualities and that the latest surveys showed that the coalition had 14.5 percent of the votes. “Our coalition can make much better results than each of the parties can do individually,” Dacic told Belgrade-based TV Pink. The SPS leader underlined that he was not planning a campaign but that the real campaign “is the work that we are doing now”, adding that two thirds of the citizens qualified him as a good interior minister.
