"No loss" if Serbia is denied EU candidate status

Opposition DSS party leader Vojislav Kostunica said on Tuesday the people will lose nothing if Serbia is denied EU candidate status on December 9. The pressure related to getting the status, which has been increasing recently, is a good reason to finally have a serious discussion about the direction Serbia should choose, the former prime minister said in a written statement for the media. "No loss" if Serbia is denied EU candidate status "In any case, I am convinced the time has come for a new political agenda and to set a new national goal. Instead of the goal so far, to become a member of the EU, our new national goal should be political and military neutrality and economic stability for Serbia," he stated. The country's interest is to have good and well developed cooperation with the EU and all other countries, he noted, adding that the only good choice was to establish national unity regarding the new policy.
