The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) has called on the government to call early elections because “each day without the current government is a clear gain”. The SNS stressed that if it stepped down, the government would also enable combat against crime and corruption. Opposition SNS in new call for early elections “The government is not doing anything else rather than running a dirty campaign against the SNS anyway. It’s better to call the elections because citizens need changes,” SNS deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic has stated. He added that the government was deliberately withholding information that twice as many young people had left Serbia between 2000 and 2012 than in the period from 1990 until 2000 and that it cost the country EUR 10bn. Commenting on the announced visit to Vukovar, Vucic said that the SNS “is neither horrified nor embittered but laughing” at the campaign against the SNS that “the government is running together with the Croat defenders and the Serb Radical Party”. He pointed out that the SNS would never say that Croat military Operation Storm in 1995 was not the biggest crime and that it would never forget Jasenovac WWII Ustasha concentration camp. “We will not forget those things we are guilty and responsible of neither, but we have no intention of fawning to those who have persecuted 400,000 Serbs from their homes and justifying ourselves and apologizing to them for expelling our people, like the regime in Serbia is doing,” the SNS deputy leader concluded.
