Serbian government’s Media Office Chief Milivoje Mihajlovic has stated that the EU should now show whether it wants Kosovo issues to be systematically solved. “This time the ball is in Europe’s court, not only in the light of December 9, the day when it should be decided about Serbia’s further European perspective, but to show that Europe really wants to solve problems in a systematic, fair and just manner,” he told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). Ball in EU’s court, Media Office chief says According to the Media Office chief, Europe should show whether it is ready to solve issues without taking any sides. “I mean primarily the European countries that are Serbia’s partners, whether they will exert pressure on Pristina in order to unburden the negotiations of additional loads and possibility of Pristina creating a new crisis such as the one during the summer when they sent special forces to northern Kosovo,“ Mihajlovic pointed out. He has assessed that the most important thing right now is the fact that the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue is continued. “The suspension of the dialogue was making the situation in Kosovo and Metohija difficult and it was in some way dictating the events in the province. The range is expected, it’s good that the diploma issue has been solved in a way. What is not good in this round of the dialogue is that Pristina is not giving up on its goals to instrumentalize the dialogue in order to prove Kosovo’s independence,” the Media Office chief explained. He pointed out that Belgrade and Serbia would not depart from the essential framework of their Kosovo policy which was based on the Constitution, laws and UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Mihajlovic added that the agreements that had been reached in Brussels were being discussed by the Serbian government and that it was being analyzed whether they were in accordance with Serbia’s Constitution and laws and that the government would then find a mechanism to implement the agreements.
