Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Krstimir Pantic has announced a lawsuit against Belgrade team chief Borislav Stefanovic. The northern Kosovo municipal representatives had a meeting with Stefanovic in Belgrade on Thursday. K. Serbs to sue Belgrade team chief According to Pantic, the meeting ended without any agreements and the criminal charges against the team chief will be filed because the agreements that have been reached with Pristina are contrary to the Serbian laws and interests of the Serbian people. “We have informed Borislav Stefanovic that the agreement on birth records is not legal in our opinion and that today or the next day the association of Serb municipalities from Kosovo and Metohija will file criminal charges against him as a negotiating team chief,” the Kosovska Mitrovica mayor told reporters after the meeting. He assessed that the agreement on birth records was detrimental to the Serbian people and contrary to Serbia’s laws and stated that a proof for that was the fact that seven out of 21 ministers who attended the session did not support the agreement. Pantic stated that the meeting with the Belgrade team head lasted for two and a half hours and that the two side’s positions remained unchanged. “We do not accept presence of any customs officers at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings. We are obligated by positions and decisions of our assemblies and that was presented to Stefanovic,” he pointed out. According to him, Kosovo Serbs' position is that they will not participate in the implementation of the agreements that could be reached in Brussels. “A decision on whether the barricades will remain at the administrative crossings will be made by citizens. They chose us as representatives of their municipalities and we will respect their decisions,” Pantic stressed. He assessed that the idea of integrated management of the customs was in fact a “copy” of the Ahtisaari plan. “Such customs management exists between Kosovo and Macedonia and Kosovo and Albania. It is unacceptable to us that the same rules that apply to neighboring countries apply to Kosovo and central Serbia,” the Kosovska Mitrovica mayor explained. He added that Stefanovic had confirmed that the negotiations with Pristina would be continued on Monday but that it was uncertain whether any agreement would be reached. The Belgrade team head also confirmed after the meeting on Thursday that no agreement had been reached. He told a press conference that it was unacceptable to Serbia to turn the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings into a state border and that all solutions for them would be in accordance with the Serbian Constitution, laws and UN Security Council Resolution 1244. When asked whether implementation of the agreements with Pristina would be possible in northern Kosovo, he said that all the agreements would be implemented, that the decision were being made by the Serbian government and that the Kosovo Serbs were Serbian citizens. The Belgrade team chief added that he had a sincere and constructive talk with the northern Kosovo Serbs but that they had some serious differences regarding certain issues.
